Fred's Fame

Earlier this week I received my copy of the current issue of Vantage (the quarterly magazine publication of Columbia Theological Seminary that I was assistant editor of as a student) in the mail. I didn't have time to read the whole thing right then, but I did flip through to see what the issue held. I had no idea my page flipping would end in an eruption of laughter. Glancing mostly at article titles and photos, I reached the article on May's Baccalaureate service and found this:



Complete with the caption: "Bishop William Willimon and Karen Fleming '08 with Fred the Cat."

Awesome. I laughed and laughed. And Fred began strutting around the house telling us how famous he is. I reminded him that Vantage only circulates within a certain, and fairly small, circle of people, but that didn't stop him. So Fred is famous. I especially love how the caption makes Fred sound like the most important one in the picture. Much thanks and kudos to my former boss and lifelong friend on behalf of Fred! We'll do our best not to let Fred's fame go to his head.
