Movie Magic

Last night was a wonderful evening. After a short shift at Target, I met up with Emily for a tasty mexican dinner complete with margaritas. Then we headed to the 'Boro, picked up my parents, and went over to the university for Friday Flicks. This is a new thing for us in Edinboro this summer. The university is showing a movie outside on the lawn behind the student center every Friday during June and July. Each evening's film has a fun activity beforehand and is connected in some way to one of the college's departments. Last night we watched "Akeelah and the Bee" with a short spelling bee for the kids beforehand. Armed with blankets (yes we still need blankets here), beverages and a truckload of movie snacks, we sat among the small crowd in the light of the moon laughing our way through Akeelah's adventure. It was bliss.

Next Friday we'll be gathering for some finger painting and to watch "I Am Sam." Now they said the finger painting was for the kids. We'll see about that.

If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend this activity for some summer fun!
